The Humboldt RISE (resilience and inclusion through support and empowerment) Project was a five year collaborative effort to support improved health outcomes for substance affected pregnant persons and their infants in Humboldt County. Led by NCHIIN and in partnership with Providence Health-Humboldt County, Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services, and many other community organizations, the initiative accelerated efforts to increase screening for substance use and linking to resources during prenatal care, supporting educational outreach and training for caring for this population, and developing community norms and clinical guidelines regarding cannabis use during pregnancy. While the project is no longer in an active phase work, legacy documents and training materials created during the project remain accessible on this webpage for community use.
